The best coffee in Newcastle, without a doubt! Amazing selection of pastries and meals as well, and a brilliant showcase of products from local businesses- it's our go to for buying gifts. We moved to Newcastle last summer and we felt a big gap to find our "local" coffee shop again, and then we discovered Local (clue is in the name :D ). Super friendly staff and overall great vibes. From the moment you walk in, you can see how much Local is a part of everyone's daily lives (including ours)
Excellent coffee, extremely friendly staff and nice place to sit right in the heart of jesmond. Thank you to the guy working there who seen me on deaths door arriving on my bike drenched in sweat outside and made me a iced water before I even got inside!
very fast and good service, but i wouldn’t really recommend the iced latte. the cups they use are a tad bit too big and skew the coffee to milk ratio so i just ended up feeling like i was drinking a big coffee tinged milkshake. i also found the amount of ice a bit lacking. the drinks are well-priced though and they had a lot of interesting things for sale. will have to try something else next time as i’ve heard the coffee is really good, i just wish i could’ve tasted it!
It’s great to have this in Jesmond - full of local produce and excellent coffee. The shop itself is nicely fitted out and enhances the corner . A welcome change from the betting ship that was there before . I had a ice cream - Excellent !
I absolutely love Local. The coffee is amongst, if not THE best in Newcastle, you can buy lots of speciality coffee in store too as well as lots of other local treats. My go to for presents. The overnight oats are also stunning!!!
High quality coffee. I tried the matcha cookie and it was awesome. Plus, the terrace is such a nice area the beautiful neighbourhood of Jesmond.
A must visit when in the area. The coffee is top quality!! The baked goods and ice cream are also delicious. Staff are super friendly, and I love that there is so much local produce available. Dogs are welcome with bowls left in the outdoor areas. Try it, you won't regret it!
